Lefrançois-BioLegend Memorial Award

Established to honor the memory of ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ member Leo Lefrançois, Ph.D., this award is intended to advance the career of a trainee (graduate student or postdoctoral fellow) who attends the ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ annual meeting and presents an outstanding abstract specifically in the area of mucosal immunology. This award is generously supported by BioLegend and donations from friends and colleagues of Dr. Lefrançois.
Selection is based on submission of an outstanding abstract selected for presentation in a Block Symposium at the meeting. The award recipient will be recognized and presented with an award certificate during the ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ Business Meeting and Awards Presentation at IMMUNOLOGY2026™. A monetary award of $1,000 will be paid by ACH or wire transfer to the recipient following the ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ meeting. This award may not be combined with other awards or grants for the ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ annual meeting.
Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of these requirements:
- Be an ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ Trainee member for 2026 with dues paid no later than October 15, 2025.
- Have submitted a first-author abstract for presentation (podium and poster) at IMMUNOLOGY2026™ in the topic category of Mucosal and Regional Immunology by October 15, 2025
- Be sure to select the option during abstract submission that indicates you are willing to make a podium (Block Symposium) presentation at the meeting.

How to Qualify
Any ×î´ó×ÊÔ´ Trainee member who submits a first-author abstract to IMMUNOLOGY2026™ in the topic category of Mucosal and Regional Immunology automatically will be considered, provided that you meet all eligibility requirements above and select the option during abstract submission that indicates you are willing to make a podium (Block Symposium) presentation at the meeting. Candidates may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae. NOTE: If you select “POSTER ONLY,” you will NOT be considered for this award.
